Aite fellas, we’re alone. I shall now present to you three pieces of evidence. That point to a clear crisis of man-ness going on globally. This is not a drill, this is the real deal. I shan’t comment on these pieces of evidence, instead I’ll leave that up to your own brains. But I shall attach some suggestions for how to better live our collective man-lives from this point on.

Let me say from the jump however that I realise that I am a part of the problem, as a rapper, I don’t use the word bitch nearly enough and I shall from here on strive to remedy this. No.

6. Quit watching all that porn and learn how to make love to your woman. Please. The stats and facts in the TEDtalks video are just appalling. We really gotta jerk it that often ?! REALLY !!!!??? C’mon son.

7. Quit taking shit too serious. Chill. Have a plan. And enjoy your life. The most manly thing you can do, in all honesty, is just love your woman right.

8. Brush up on your Bro Code everyday yo . . . yeah that means every 24hrs. Cos’ a headline in the papers read like this the other day “Man rapes brother’s wife.” <-- WTF !! NOT. A. BRO.

9. STOP RIDING MALE HORSES JUST BECAUSE A BUNCH OF KIDS BET YOU DAMNIT !!! Yes Drake, we’re looking at you my nig.

The Daily Dose x “Oh Shit! Its FRIDAY.”

If you’ve been keeping up to date with #TheDailyDose, you’ll know that this week has seen me re-enter the hallowed halls of “Beast Mode” . . . this basically means I’M BACK ON MY OVER-GRIND SNITCHES !!!

And yea, so far so good.

Gym status ? Check.

Healthy diet status ? Check.

Paper chase status ? Check.

Bars on Bars on Bars status ? Check.

In short, I’m doing all the things I feel I need to, to make me feel productive and purposeful in how I’m living. And thats great . . .

But its only been one week, and the real challenge is the damn weekend. I’m scared out my mind that this entire foundation, built by myself . . . for myself this week could be crushed with one wrong move.

Thankfully, I don’t have any shows tonight. Allah is merciful !

But, I do have a show tomorrow and a farewell for someone I’d actually like to say farewell too. This could get extremely ugly, fml.

I’m sorry, this isn’t even a good blog post. Not well written, not well thought out . . . its actually just to let y’all know that I’m afraid of the immediate future. In fact no, its for me to ask your help . . . yea thats why I’m here writing this one.

The Daily Dose x “Beast Mode”

BEAST MODE . . . everybody has one. And if you don’t I highly recommend that you find and cultivate one. This is part of what being a “Student Of The Game” (#SOTG) is about. Actively searching for oneself and from that awareness, actively asserting and assuming your place in this “place”.

Its that mind state where you feel invincible, where any obstacle in your path is merely a challenge, where good days aren’t hoped for but fought for and born of firm resolve. Its a state of being that we know requires of us both sacrifice and discipline, focus and action, patience and dedication.

I define mine as follows;

“Run faster. Eat better. Write more. Sleep longer. Try harder. Aim higher. Love more. Day by day, get happier.”

I only get about 4 to 6 months a year in which I’m willing and capable of getting up off my ass to sow, the potential rewards I hope to reap in the other 6 to 8 months of the year. There’s a huge benefit to being aware of when these times in your life are and what they mean to you, cos’ once you know you can fine tune and manipulate these moments.

I think why I spend so much of the year avoiding this period of “get up and go” is because while it may be incredibly rewarding, it also means having to face the reality of my current state (mental, physical,emotional,spiritual) and then finding the courage and strength to both face and overcome the challenge and uncertainty of personal growth.

So I’ll usually find that these “beast mode” periods are preceded by periods of utter disregard for growth as an ACTUAL human. I drink more knowing full well the repercussions of letting “Tehn Demon” out of his cage, I chain smoke as if I’d forgotten growing with terrible asthma, I chase tail as if my soul depended on it knowing full well its love my soul lives for, I forget to make time to be silent with myself and at peace . . . in short, I take myself to the other side of the light.

Till I find myself in darkness, alone and unfulfilled. Till I’m sick and tired enough to say “You can be so much more than just this.” Then it begins again, the fresh metamorphosis. I don’t think its to healthy, but then I don’t really care . . . I’m happy to let myself find itself time and time again.

Its thanks to this constant rebirth, that I end up here, writing this kinda blog and embarking on this kinda day. The first of what I always hope and pray will be many endless days of productivity and positive living . . . knowing full well of course, that this cycle of destruction and rebuilding will continue.

And with every cycle, another “I” is born to face whatever “US” stands outside the door waiting to either beat me down or build me up.

Welcome, to #SOTGseason . . . where “Beast Mode” reigns supreme.

The Daily Dose x The Winner Stands Alone

First things first, if you haven’t already read this book, buy it and do so immediately. I started it two days ago and its just what I needed. Paulo, seeks to explore the answer/s to one simple question “How can we stay innocent in a world of excess ?”.

If you’ve been following blog for a bit you’ll know that I have a serious fear of failure, but you don’t know is that I may or may not also have a slight fear of success. So I saw this book and knew it’d be just what I needed to deal with this stupid inner conflict.

Two pages into it you’ll find a poem. That poem is below. Its by Walt Whitman, an absolute King among men when it came to the art of putting pen to paper. Enjoy.
