So this is a new category I’m tryna bring you guys throughout the New Year. Its no secret that I love to read. As long as it stimulates my mind in some way or takes me somewhere new I’m all over it. In fact there were a bunch of books that I read while at university that more than likely lead to my dropping out and following my heart with music instead. So every month i’m gonna share with you what I’m reading.
It’ll work like this, every month on the 1st I’ll let you know what my new book is and why I’m reading it. Then on the last day of the month I’ll let you know what I took away from it. So tuck in and enjoy.
This months book is “The Magic of Thinking Big” by Dr. David J. Shwartz
WHY I’M ON IT: I chose this book cos’ from what I’ve heard about it, its the perfect book to help me set the tone for this new year and generally get my mind right. I don’t know much about the book’s author but in a lot of the stuff I’ve read in the past his name keeps popping up, so I figured I’d give it a go.
Most people aren’t down with tucking into self-help books, but the way I see it if someone else has been through something and can shed some light on things you may encounter in life, well you get to avoid a potential mistake without the hurt or at least get to learn something new.
WHAT THEY SAY: The Magic of Thinking Big gives you workable methods, not empty promises. Dr. Schwartz presents a planned programme for living on a grand scale – in your job, family and social life.
“We read to know we are not alone.”
– C. S. Lewis
