Exactly a year ago, I dropped my second mixtape. It took me two years to get that project written and recorded. Before this project dropped I didn’t think I had what it’d take to repeat what I’d done with my first mixtape in 2008.

I was shit scared that I wouldn’t have anything to say, or that I wouldn’t be good enough.

I was shit scared that me trying to drop a hip-hop mixtape in Harare, Zimbabwe would just flop.

I was shit scared that maybe, just maybe, the naysayers were right . . . that I was crazy.

But I was wrong.

Nevertheless, this project was produced in fear. Fear of a reality I knew I’d never be able to live through. Failure.

Thank you to everybody who got me to this point. Cos’ now because of this mixtape, I have my first single “Grown Up Kid” which gave birth to my first official music video . . . a video that I’m so proud of, if this all stopped today I’d be in the sky grinning from ear to ear.

But that was then. #SOTG3 is coming soon, and this time I’m not afraid. I’m ready and I’m excited.
