You might even be able to hear it in my voice, but at this point I was dead tired. Coming to the end of a 1hr+ show . . . in fact the first time I’d ever carried an hour long show myself.

I performed the whole of SOTG2 then the people wanted to hear some of SOTG1, so naturally, you give the people what they want.

And as if by my magic, we closed it out with a freestyle.

This may not factor into the minds of other artists from Zim particularly those abroad, but for me coming home was important, getting known out here was so important. I could never stand the thought of being cheered for and talked about in places like Australia and Singapore, when not a soul knew me at home.

My home.

And now everything is slowly changing as I prayed and hoped it would.

The foundation has been laid in 2010, and it has been laid in Harare, Zimbabwe. In 2011 with the city on my back, we take on the rest of Africa, then we take on the world. Haters get your notepads and mean mugs at the ready, this is not gonna be a pleasant trip for you at all.

Its about teamwork and family, thats what makes this all so very #NSOA.

The Daily Dose x “I Spent The Day On Twitter”

I like to use this section of my blog, THE DAILY DOSE, as a way for me to just share my experiences or shed some light on thoughts I may have had throughout the day.

Today is different. I had no day. I had no thoughts. So there is really not much to shed light on.

All I do know is that I spent the WHOLE day tweeting. I haven’t done that in ages. I used to love doing it. In fact I still do, clearly. Buts its different now, I dunno whats different but it just is. Maybe its just me, maybe its cos of all the #HDB’s (u have to follow me on twitter to know what this means), maybe its cos the #TwimboNation doesn’t seem as close knitt as it used to, or maybe twitter is just over.

I hope its not the latter, cos of twitter’s done and facebook’s done, where on earth am I meant to waste away my days ?

I can at least find solace in the fact, that even once all these sites lose their appeal as a place to kick it and have fun they will always hold value as places for me to deepen the connections made with the folk who are following my journey . . . in fact there’s actually nothing better than getting to know somebody who’s a believer in your music and vision.

That feeling there is the shit.

So you know what ? Yea I spent the day on twitter !!! And what ?!!

I loved every moment. Tomorrow is Monday though, and that demands focus and attention.

We grind.

Its not secret the kinda Maxwell fan I am, so for me it was a no brainer to try and put a little #SOTG twist on my favourite tune from the crooner. So above is the first performance of my rendition of “Bad Habits”. Naturally, I had to make the most of a beautiful audience.

The Daily Dose x “Twenty-TEHN”

Wow. Its been an amazing year thus far. I know its not done yet, but I’m just in a reflective mood right now. When 2010 and started I was still in Singapore, fine-tuning my performance chops. Unsure of what the next stage of my career would be, but quietly confident that I was still on my destined path.

My only resolve this year was that I had to keep this dream pushing, I had to take it to a new level. What awaited me on that level I had no idea, no idea except for the faith I had in something great awaiting me.

Fast forward to now. I’ve been interviewed for three publications, one college paper in NY, one magazine in Australia and then one lifestyle magazine in Zimbabwe. For two of those publications I was even featured on the cover, all this with two mixtapes out and small legion of believers . . . #TeamSOTG aka The FAMbase.

After a long wait, I also dropped my second musical offering for the world . . . and so far the response has been amazing. I set out to try and alert the ears of the millions of Zimbos around the world and within Zim to my sound and soul. Thus the “Who Is Tehn Diamond ?” campaign was born . . . and the people listened. From a Zimbo following of about 50 or so, I now see from my stats that an extra 175 Zimbos are now on board. I love this, more than life itself. I always say to my countrymen and women, that I dont make this music for you I make it of you. Cos we’re all just one and the same. So I thank you all for that love and support.

This year my music has seen radio play, on community stations, college stations and mainstream radio in a number of countries . . . namely, the UK, New Zealand, Namibia, Zambia and of course at home . . . Zimbabwe.

A year ago I would never have fathomed such, though I hoped and prayed for it daily.

So with all thats happened, with all the blessings and amazing people that have come my way . . . please know I am and always will be grateful. Nothing brightens up my life more than knowing you know me, and knowing you know I can take us to the places they say we can’t.

So thank you, from the very bottom of my heart and soul THANK YOU !!

This is one of those verses that I wrote knowing that whenever I perform it, I really want people to overstand it. Its a special verse to me, I think cos it captures well how so many of young Zimbabweans in and outside the country feel about the way we are portrayed or viewed as a nation. Particularly when we know and believe our nation is worth so much more.

So yeah, here it is the second verse of Breathe.

Drake” probably cos #DecemberInZim is fast approaching and well its summer time we all thinking but getting boo’d up and what not.
