Quote of the Day from Confucius
Thank God Its Friday !! Even though most of my days are fridays anyway, it still feels good to great the weekend. Been tryna heed the wise words of the ancients this week, I felt for the last one it’d be dope to take things back in time and a little over to the east…the Far East. And who better than the all-time heavyweight thinker of Asia, Confucius. We all know the name, but do you know the game. Click the pic below for more info.
“The nature of man is always the same; it is their habits that separate them”
*this whole week, the theme has been to master ur mind, ur thoughts in particular and face ur fears. i like today’s quote because it take things further and says we need to act on these thoughts. Not just once but repeatedly till we form habits. and thats the thought I wanna take into this weekend. To act on that which I think myself to be. You should too…lemme know how it goes.
Quote of the Day from Seneca the Younger
Its really starting to feel like the same way everybody is a rapper these days, people back in ancient times were all philosophers. Take for example today’s teacher, Seneca the Younger, who was tutor to Nero, a playwright as well as a philosopher in Ancient Rome. As always for more info click the pic below.
“Where fear is . . . happiness is not”
*This hits home hard, I went thru a period where I wanted to achieve so badly that failure became this massive fear. Instead of just accepting it as a possible reality and working towards dispelling, I drove myself nuts and still do from time to time.
Inner-views: drake for EIGHTY81.com
via Eighty81.com
I found this interview like months and months ago, and in all honesty didn’t even wanna share it. Yeah I said it ! I really value a good interview, with the kinda insights I know I can apply to my own career. Be it in terms of the creative writing process, live performances or just the business side of the game.
More than anything they’re just good to gauge a person’s mindstate, and then the next step is to replicate or at least a apply the parts that could work for you and fit your own character or creative process. Anyway this is a dope interview, especially cos’ dude talks about how he writes too.
I think Picasso once famously said “Good artists borrow, great artists steal” the question is what to steal, and thats what I try to figure our for myself with “the Inner-views”.

Quote of the Day from Pindar
Before researching today’s quote I had no idea who or what the fuck a Pindar was…turns out he was quite the braniac. A poet by profession, from Greece, how cool is it that back in the day you could be a poet and like not only was it cool….u were appreciated. Nowadays if you aint bringing pesos somebody gonna say so…and BAM! all of a sudden ur a lame. #SadReally. Oh well, click the pic to get ya learn on…
“Learn what you are and be such.”
*This quote I love cos’ being knee deep in tryna bring you SOTG2.0 its important that I ask myself who I am constantly. Whats dope is I re-affirm that which I already know myself to be, and almost always discover something new. And lucky you, cos’ then it all comes out in song…..but the best thing is that all this quote says is “JUST DO YOU!!!”
Music On My Mind: Naughty By Nature’s “O.P.P.”
“You down with OPP ?!”
The day I finally went back and listened to this track and understood was a glorious one. Always knew the track as a kid, but jus never really and truly got it till I grew up and lived a little. So yea…WHO”S DOWN WITH O.P.P. !!??
The Daily Dose: I’d Rather See Myself Thru A Telescope
So the past two days I’ve been on something of a writing spree, I’ve kinda been on a dry spell lately as far as actually getting into flow and just zoning out on a creative tip, so the way this week started was just what I needed. Needless to say I was getting in a little panic, seeing as who I’m dropping the new SOTG in July.
But as it turns out, it really just boiled down to finally figuring out the direction SOTG2.0 is gonna take and accepting once again that I’m in charge of the creative inspiration I’m just the vessel that receives it. So I didn’t panic this time around, just kept living and kept writing every morning knowing that the spark would hit when its ready to.
Well she came through and he’s one of the more abstract gems I was left, its called “Telescope”. I don’t know what the fuck this joint is, but its like this weird kinda ego-trip thing I feel we all go through if even briefly at some point in life. But in this track it revolves around wanting to be in the limelight and having every piece of ur life viewed through a wide-lens by the public….and its narcissistic and creepy but we like it…..hmmm.
Anyway her’s the chorus…lemme know what your first thoughts are in the comments yea.
We dont get to see the future through a TELESCOPE
Look forward, don’t bother with a horoscope.
I’m just saying, the moment is what you gotta own.
I’m just saying, its something I thought you ought to know.
Cos’ while you’re getting by,
I’ll be getting mine,
And I’mma conquer the world before I die.
So I’d rather see myself through a TELESCOPE.
Wouldn’t you rather see yourself through a TELESCOPE ?
Yea I’d rather see myself through a TELESCOPE.
*SOTG2.0 just gets weirder and wonderfuller by the day. This tracks gonna be dope, but kinda strange. Wait till you hear it , if ur even listening that is.
The beat for this joint is produced by D’MAIN EVENT outta NZ, and its just something else…so maybe we can blame him for the weird dopeness that’s bout to be this track.
Peace, Love & *double deuces to the doubters*

Quote of the Day from Archimedes
Okay so I kinda gave a thought to why it is I love ancient history and quotes and shit. I think its cos’ I’m kinda amazed at the fact that even though it was thousands of years ago, the lessons they laid down then still apply today. So as much as the world grows and changes, really there’s core elements that stay the same. The rules of success as it would seem have always been, and I guess always will be. Anyway here’s another old-old-old-old-school quote, this time from Syracusean mathematician, astronomer and inventor…Archimedes (how gangsta is that name though ?!). Click the pic below to learn more about dude.
“Give me where to stand and I will move the earth”
*Just so u know I put these quotes up, first to give myself a mental mantra/focus for the day. Sometimes I forget to remember, but most days these little sayings keep me on track. Also I learn about a new amazing figure everyday….so I’m jus tryna share that with you. I hope you take the time to read up on who actually dropped the knowledge we all seem to covet these days.
SLMAO @ The Sacred Heart Air-Band from SCRUBS
SCRUBS is the all time greatest shit ever !!! Its the glue that kept myself and my university friends close together. Its the reason I once spent a whole weekend in bed, tryna watch every episode known to man.
I am a SCRUBS fiend. So this week I’m starting my days with laughter inspired by JD & the gang.
*peep The Janitor with his shades on doing his best FTW impression. ha !!
* and Turk at the 0.44sec mark….ha !
Who do you think owns it in this clip ?
Quote of the Day from Marcus Aurelius
I love ancient history, I dunno why really. I guess its just super interesting stuff. So this week’s quotes are all from the good-old-old-old days…like before Jesus came through. And so to kick it off, I have the man dubbed “The First Philosopher King” and a fella who’s name you may recognise from Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator”. If you wanna learn more ’bout my mains Marcus, just click the pic below.
