The Daily Dose: Have a Happy Woo Year !
DISCLAIMER: Make sure you’ve read “The Ways of the Woo” and “The Ways of the Woo Pt.2″ before you proceed any further with this post. Thats right suckers this is the last chapter of The Woo Trilogy.
So last night was ladies’ night AGAIN, and truth be told I can’t be mad at that AT ALL. Even though this time around it took me till the very end of the night to realise it.
For some reason last night I couldn’t wait to just get off stage and head on home. So needless to say I didn’t do three ladies’ night essentials (smile,sing & wave). Okay no wait I did sing, and for the most part I sang well, but that was for me. And yes, I gave the occasional nod of acknowledgement to the randoms and a little wave to any familiar faces. But that was it.
But I neglected the wonderfully drunk with happiness and free alcohol ever supportive WOO GIRLS. But my whole thing is the whole time on stage I felt like I coulda been sitting at my Mac doing some music marketing research, working on my mixtape or just getting important shit done. So yea I was on auto-pilot. Not very “live in the moment” of me but hey, I’M HUMAN !
It wasn’t till I got off stage, packed my bag and headed towards McDonald’s for a post-work junk food binge, that I stepped on outta my funk for a sec. And then BAM ! Somewhere around the corner I heard a group of inebriated young ladies laughing, chatting and letting off the odd “WOO!”.
Naturally, I smiled. Couldn’t wait to get round the corner just outta sheer instinct.
Mind you they weren’t making that racket for me though, but I remembered just how the sound of a bunch of happy, pretty young ladies can make a man feel. Its part curiosity, part hope and part who knows what else….but its been there since adolescence.
So yea I walked passed, grinned and tipped my hat thinking “Long live the Woo Girls”.
So here’s to them, still turning heads in ’09 with like 30 seconds left on the shot clock. May 2010 bring joy to both you and the men who hear your glorious woo.

The Daily Dose: Be Really Real Then !
So now that the fakeness that comes with Christmas is over with, everyone is pretty much back to normal. Heathen as ever !
But really its whatever.
Maybe I’ve been out here a little too long or I’m just around the wrong folk…but I do know that the fuckery needs to end and soon.
In case you didn’t get the memo, I’m already in TwentyTEHN. So when the ball drops I’m not dropping it I’m catching it.
I’m on a mission to just be positive mainly and its hard for me cos’ I’m hella prone to being a negative bitch. So with that said, despite the fray its been a great day. I made a list of just 5 simple things to get done today and so far I’ve done 3, plus the day is young. So on a personal productivity note, IM GOOD.
All I really wanted to say today is, don’t just put on the smiles and the cheery spirit for the Christmas holidays, let that be how you live your life everyday. Be genuine and be sincere. If you’re a bitch be a bitch, cos’ fuck it someone loves that about you. And if you’re a kind soul then maintain.
Me, I’m all sorts I guess. But I try not to compromise, if I don’t have it to say I don’t say it.

The Daily Dose: The Foundation for twentyTEHN
I’ve been talking and thinking about focus a lot recently. Not just on here but with the people around me. In talking about it though I hadn’t really narrowed it down to what exactly I feel I need to focus on. But now I finally have the answer. And its simple really.
Making great music. I worry so much, or at least this past year, about how to get my music out. How to make money from it. How to make new fans who really and truly believe and get behind me. How to make this blog entertaining and exciting. To the point that I haven’t been writing as much, when in reality the music is what’ll do everything I’ve been so obsessively concerned about getting right.
I honestly from here on trust that as long as keep pouring my all into the letters and the melodies, the rest will come. So instead spending 80% of my energy and focus on how to break out, I’m gonna focus it on how to make great music. The other 20% will go to building real relationships with my FAMbase. Which to me isn’t just the people who listen to my music, but it’ll also include my manager when they come into my life to help me steer this ship, the producers I’ll work with and the indstry connections I plan on making in 2010. The people who feel my passion and pour their own passion into me, so WE can grow and exceed all expectations together. Thats my FAMbase.
I’m so excited. This may not be the year that I get where I’m going, but this’ll be the one that plants the seeds and helps me build my foundation.

Just came up with a possible bridge. As it stands I like the melody more than the words. But I’ll just work it and keep you updated. Also I decided to go with the present tense version of the verse.

* So yeah this is the first verse of a song I’m working on. Its more just working itself. I think I have a beautiful bridge melody lined up for it too. Just gotta dig it out the soul a little more.

The Daily Dose: IM JUS SAYIN !
Gonna be sleeping off the night all day, so I figured I best get “the dose” in nice and early. With what I’ve learnt just an hour and a half into the ummmm so called “Christmas”….just a quick list, though it has been pointed out that my list making skills are uber-shitty….
Regardless though, lets press on…
1. If you just spent your Xmas Eve at the club your life is lacking something serious. Get a hug and quick. IM JUS SAYIN.
*with that said though I just spent mine at a club, but only because I perform at it EVERY NIGHT, come rain or shine, or come the birth of The Jesus…so yea I have an excuse…mind you I’m not pleased. But hey its a living…*
2. Don’t let yourself, find yourself spending Christamas in a country that really isn’t a Christian country…cos thats what Christmas is, a Christian holiday. Mind you that hasn’t stopped a soul getting uber-faded in its name. And its wateva really, I just dislike pretending I’m doing the real Xmas when my mum is not even a drive away. IM JUS SAYIN.
3. Secret Santa is a chump ! You’re either ACTUALLY giving someone a gift or you’re not ! IM JUS SAYIN.
Okay thats me for now. And really don’t mind me, I’m just bitter cos’ I miss the childhood Christmases. I also kinda just miss my childhood.

The Daily Dose: The Formula I Know
In the words of Tony Robbins,
Consistent focus + Consistent action = Successs
Which to me is comforting to know, but also a bit of a worry. See cos’ if there’s anything I know about myself its that I suck at discipline and focus. I’ve been a lot better this year, but still nowhere where I feel it needs to be to get shit really done.
So now there’s 5 days till the new year and 17 till my 25th birthday, I’m gonna take a little timeout to sit down and define the next steps. To choose my focus and apply action.
And while the holiday isn’t my favourite, its still one that just has to matter on some level. So with that said here’s wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, I’ll be with new friends doing what I love most on stage.
But I hope that once all the fun and festivities are over, you take the time to sit with yourself and decide where it is you’ll steer your life next.

The Daily Dose: The Ladies of my Life
Two days ago it was my mom’s birthday. Today is my sister birthday. I love them. I really do. And I love it cos’ its easy. i can’t stop smiling. I haven’t seen either of them i nearly a fucken decade. Can you believe that dumb shit ?
The most beautiful souls I’ve ever known and my life is without them.
I used to fight with my sister all the time. I remember this one time she threw yoghurt at me. YOUGHURT ! I mean really.
Natalie, if you reading this know that I love you. I’m proud of you and I love you. You make me feel great about myself. And mum, you’re my angel. It almost feels unfair that I have you as a mother, at times i feel I don’t even deserve your love.
At times i hate myself for dropping out of university to follow my dream, because I know that was your dream. But you never judge me in fact you love me more. THANK YOU.
I can’t wait to hug you both.

The Daily Dose: Xmas much ?
I don’t like Christmas. Its never been the same since the folks split. But last night something happened. I was singing in an acoustic bar, surrounded by good friends and I loved it.
It felt like Christmas. And I remembered what its all about.
