FOLLOW THE FLOW – The Pleasure Principle (updated w/ video)

Now this is ’bout to be the second installment of a little segment I’m calling “Follow the Flow”

Most of you already checked out “Retrospective Perspective Pt. 1″ if not run along and peep the verse with the blog and the video…I even threw in some audio.

Now with this one I know exactly what I wanna use it for, I have a beat for it…this one is called “The Pleasure Principle” and its basically about delaying gratification i.e. b4 you gain you gotta go thru some pain. But I think its something a lotta people struggle with, like the fact that sometimes when you really want something..you gotta give up something else.

I couldnt tell ‘em to walk a mile in my shoes, when they barely know their own size //
Even when I do, they take ‘em off at the first sign //
Of foot fatigue, which to me is a blessing //
Cos when I feel the pain start, I consider the lesson //
Is it cos I started off running at the beginning /
When I know that I shoulda jogged, got loose with a warm-up //
Now I’m set in my stride and I’m starting a storm up //
Arriving at the point that I never believed //
Was ever for me //
And now its my everything //
The melodies seem to be so embedded in me//
A lyrical fiend who once wouldn’t look at a mic//
Now I look at it like Mike, yes the heavenly being //
Who “Beat It” and came “Bad” made a milli from “Billie Jean” //
Selling is soul just so he could give you his dreams//
Easy to some, but hard to the masses who don’t know//
That in order to gain awe, gotta trade it for more //
Gotta slave at it brave, just so you can say that it paid off//
Day to day with a hunger that can only be met //
By the very thirst to be first that can never be quenched//
So never repent, cos failing is a sin in itself //
If you never ammend…so dont you ever give in//
Cos in every win lives what you moulded within //
If you’re chosen to sing, sing to the moon and the stars //
Only then will it sink in…THIS IS ONLY THE START //
