Keep that in mind as u read, why and how I ended up just going the music route….and not the BCom graduate route…
Now listen I don’t really know what its like where you’re from, but know whats it like in Zimbabwe. If you’re privilleged enough to be able to afford school..you go.Then you go to primary school. Then you go to high school. I went to St. George’s College in Harare.
Two years in you get your ZJC (maybe not)…then two years later your get your O’Levels (maybe not)…then another two years later you get your A’Levels.
Now what happens after this if your a good God-fearing….parent pleasing young boy or girl….you generally go out into he world and you get your degree. What do you get your degree in ?
Well naturally, you get it in something respectable…something thats gonna guarantee your future and make your folks proud.
You do not…I repeat DO NOT under any any circumstances suggest to your parents as I did….that despite getting A’Levels in Management of Business, Accounting & Economics that you would like to go out there and spend their heard earned money studying a Perfoming Arts Degree….RIDICULOUS !!
Get the picture. So I went off and did Finance. But I made sure i did it far far away so I could at least get me some life experience. I ended up in sunny Brisbane,Australia. At the time my big dream was becoming an actor…..then it became songwriter…..then ummm…I ended up a rapper (huh?)..check the about me section for that story though.
So after a few semesters and just meeting people from all over the world, studying or sorts of stuff I learnt that a huge number of the people I met were studying one thing to appease someone else….after which they would work….save some money up….and finally chase their true passion…..a global crisis if you ask me.
I’m not the biggest fan of the dream deferring mentality most of society has….life is too short…we act like we KNOW we have 4 eva when in reality we only have today…not even that…we only really have RIGHT NOW….so yea thats how this verse came about…

By the way it wouldnt be right if I didnt mention that while studying wasnt for me…I totally see how having a day job might have helped to speed up some of things I’m tryna do now. But hey I made my bed….and so I shall lounge in it. Surely money can’t be the end and be all. I for one just believe in people.
If its good, good people will listen and they’ll let the world know.
But maybe im just too much of an idealist….watevs…I’m happy 
Bottom line though…I’m ready and willing to sweat. I’ll get where I’m going soon enough. I love what I do. I love that you care.
