So after yet another 40 hour bus ride….fro Cape Town to H-Town I’m finally home and chilling…but only for minute.

There is much to be done.

Sorry if I dont update like I should for the next few weeks. But my internet access is gonna be kinda whack.

So bear with me. Rest assured I’ll be taking lots of video and photos of the recording process…and just giving you the general run down.

Things are looking sweet. I’ve managed to find a lotta helpful resources. The most helpful of which being none other than SA’s own HYPE magazine.

I emailed their editor to see if I can get a word or a look in…

Fresh outta Zimbabwe – Andre

Today is a good day. In fact they’re all good…but today was better.

Met up with some otehr young dudes doing their music thing. From Zimbabwe as well…which is always good. I think we’ve got so much talent thats just waiting in the wings dying to come out and shine. Hopefully I can help dudes get out there a little myself.

Its always dope to bump heads with like minded individuals…you know the type who still believe in dreams and chasing them.

One such kat is this kid Andre….funnily enough I went to high school with dude and even back then he had a crazy voice and a whole lotta passion. im just glad he’s sticking with it. Check him out why dont ya ?

On my last blog aka prelude to the real blog (THIS BLOG…yes ur in the right place), I started a wishlist. Ya know just artists that I felt if I had the chance to work with I WOULD. That being said I gotta put it out there and let ya know there’s a bunch who you may think I would work with….but really wouldn’t.

See at first listen, like most of everyone else when I thought ” hmmm Asher Roth…uh oh….he sounds like Eminem…this shits never gonna work out ” ….then after giving The Greenhouse Effect like a hundred plays @ The Forest in St. Lucia (big shout to the SCUMBAGZ)…I realised that I didnt quite give a damn if the dude sounds even a little like Em.

Why ?

Cos he’s nice in his own right…and plus maybe the way him & Em sound could just be the way white dudes sound when they rhyme REALLY good. So hold ya criticisms one tick and give dude a listen. I figure if I ever did a joint with dude I’d like to call it “The Best of Both Burbs”

Its just good to see I’m not alone in this real-LIFE rap thing. Whats all the guns and things about ? Chill, relax, get a beer, get a hug….call mum and tell her you’ll be home for X-mas.

So in the name of trying to make some sort of mark on these vast internets. A few weeks ago I emailed a bunch of the top hip-hop/music blogs out there, and basically introduced myself. I really don’t remember how many I hit up, but i do know that only one got back to me and actually took the time to hear what I got.

Papa’s got a brand new BLOG !!

So first and foremost I best thank my mainest man DJ DownX of recent Disco Disco ! “fame” for FINALLY getting his pink ass round to sorting this shit out for me. Somewhere between helping me get my mixtape done back in August and his recent Lady Ga Ga obsession…he slotted me in. Nice.

So umm on with the show then.

I feel comfy. Like I’m finally home and stuff. I’m gonna be keeping this baby as updated as I possibly can considering I’m still kinda moving back and forth between Cape Town & H-Town (Harare….dont get it twisted Houston), so my internet game may slack for a minute.

But if you don’t know, which you should cos you’re here, I’m TehN Diamond aka The Student of the Game bka Tendai….get it ? got it ? good !!

I’m a rapper….but really a soul singer trapped in a rapping phase….dont ask…I cant explain it either. Other than encourage you to down my first mixtape and see for yourself The Student of the Game: HIGHER LEARNING there’s not a whole lot more to it.

Its not a long one, but its a good one. The love has been real and strong so far for this project, and I’m actually heading back up to Zim to get started on the recording of the follow up as well as try to get the bulk of the recording for my debut album done.
